St Patrick’s Day 2024 programme

Tourism Ireland’s St Patrick’s 2024 programme spanned Great Britain, North America, Mainland Europe and Australia. The organisation took every opportunity to capitalise on Ireland’s heightened profile around 17th March; the saturation coverage about the island of Ireland across the global airwaves, in newspapers and digital media is an invaluable boost for our overall 2024 tourism promotional drive.

Highlights of Tourism Ireland’s St Patrick’s Day 2024 programme of activity

  • The St Patrick’s Day Festival in Dublin was the hero attraction. Tourism Ireland had renowned travel broadcaster Gabe Saglie on the ground with us in Dublin, livestreaming from the parade to 40 TV stations across the United States, reaching audiences of up to 50 million across CBS, FOX, ABC and NBC networks. Other key international journalists were invited to visit by Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland, covering the Dublin St Patrick’s Day parade and regional St Patrick’s Festivals.
  • Ireland Weeks, in collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs, were live in Germany (Munich, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Berlin), France (Paris), Italy (Milan and Rome), Spain (Madrid), Switzerland (Zurich, Basel and other cities) and Austria (Vienna), showcasing our culture, music, literature, food and holiday experiences, bringing the island of Ireland to the streets of various cities.
  • Tourism Ireland’s ‘Fill your heart with Ireland’ campaign, featuring Derry Girls and Sharon Horgan, is live across media this spring, with a goal of driving consideration of Ireland as a destination to visit. In addition, we had a new St Patrick’s Day short video to mark the moment with audiences across Great Britain, the United States, Germany and France, as well as broader social media audiences around the world.
  • As so many countries around the world love to celebrate St Patrick’s Day, images, video footage and cultural content about Ireland were supplied to news desks around the world, as well as to our database of more than 20,000 influential travel and lifestyle media contacts.  For example, on NBC in New York, broadcaster Michael Matthis featured interviews with Tourism Ireland, as well as footage from the island, in live coverage of the iconic New York parade.
