Tourism Ireland welcomes Air Canada service from Toronto to Shannon

Tourism Ireland warmly welcomes Air Canada’s announcement of a new flight from Toronto to Shannon, which will operate three times a week from June to October next year. The new service will make it easier than ever for Canadian holidaymakers to explore the spectacular Wild Atlantic Way.

Canadian visitors to the island of Ireland have increased by around 30% since 2023 and, in terms of spend by overseas visitors, Canada is now a top five market.

Welcoming the announcement, Siobhan McManamy, Tourism Ireland’s Director of Markets & Partnerships, said:“The announcement by Air Canada is really good news for tourism from Canada for 2027 and supports Tourism Ireland’s work in the area of market diversification. As an island destination, we know there’s a proven direct correlation between access and growth in visitor numbers. Tourism Ireland is committed to working with Air Canada, Shannon Airport and our other key partners, to drive demand for this service, and all other services to Ireland, and help grow demand for our vital network of routes and services.”
