Tourism Ireland serves up a ‘Taste of Ireland’ in Glasgow

Promoting the island of Ireland to Scottish travel professionals

Tourism Ireland brought a flavour of Ireland to Glasgow this week, hosting a special 'Taste of Ireland' networking event for 33 leading Scottish tour operators and travel agents.

Seven tourism businesses from the island of Ireland took part in the event, which involved presentations and networking opportunities designed to showcase the very best of our tourism offering. The event provided a valuable platform for Tourism Ireland and its partners to remind the travel agents and tour operators about the many great things for their clients to see and do in Ireland – including our great food and drink experiences, rich heritage and superb visitor attractions.

Julie Wakley, Tourism Ireland’s Head of Great Britain, said: “Scotland is an important market for us, so we’re delighted to welcome so many key travel professionals to our ‘Taste of Ireland’ event in Glasgow. Events like this provide a valuable opportunity for our partners from Ireland to connect and network with travel professionals who have potential to bring valuable tourists to Ireland, helping to build valuable relationships and secure a greater share of their business for 2026 and beyond.”

In 2026, Tourism Ireland will deliver over 1,000 promotional opportunities for tourism SMEs from across the island of Ireland, enabling 35,000 commercial meetings between those local SMEs and overseas travel trade partners who bring visitors at scale and delivering €300 million in business pipeline.
