Tourism Ireland hosts ‘Floating Roadshow’ in Germany

Tourism Ireland is joined by 22 tourism companies from the island of Ireland on a sales mission with a difference this week – visiting nine cities onboard a cruise ship on the Rhine River in Germany.  

The ‘Floating Roadshow’ brings together the industry partners from Ireland with over 600 key German travel agents, tour operators and influential media in the cities of Cologne, Bonn, Koblenz, Mainz, Mannheim, Speyer, Karlsruhe, Wiesbaden and Bingen. As part of the roadshow, an event is also taking place in Frankfurt Airport. 

The aim is to inspire the German travel professionals and media about all that Ireland has to offer, highlighting to them the wealth of experiences on offer on a holiday here and to win a greater share of the travel professionals’ business for 2026 and beyond.

Nadine Lehmann, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Germany, said: “Our ‘Floating Roadshow’ provides an excellent platform for our 22 industry partners from Ireland to meet, and do business with, over 600 German travel professionals and influential media across nine cities along the Rhine. 

“Flight capacity from Germany to Ireland will increase in April with the launch of a new direct flight from Frankfurt to Shannon with Discover Airlines, further improving access for German holidaymakers. Our event in Frankfurt Airport is a great opportunity to highlight that enhanced connectivity.”

Germany is the third-largest source of visitors to the island of Ireland and one of the largest outbound travel markets in the world.
