Swiss journalists discover Ireland’s coastal gems
Four journalists from Switzerland – representing various print and online publications with a combined audience of around 400,000 readers – have been exploring Ireland, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.
The journalists followed a bespoke itinerary showcasing some of the islands along the coastline of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. Their itinerary included a visit to Clare Island off the coast of Mayo, where the journalists enjoyed The Spirit of Clare Island Tasting Experience with Clare Island Whiskey. The group embarked on a sea safari along Achill Island’s coastline with Achill Sea Safari and visited Achill Island Sea Salt. They also took in a live sheepdog demonstration with The Newport Shepherds and a guided tour of Howth with Hidden Howth Experiences.
Nadine Lehmann, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for DACH countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite this group of influential Swiss journalists to visit, to experience Ireland’s coastal gems. Through the articles and content they produce and share, the journalists will inspire their audiences across Switzerland to come and discover the heritage and landscapes of Ireland for themselves.”
