Spotlight on Ireland’s world-class Business Events offering in Paris

The island of Ireland was promoted as a world-class destination for Business Events to around 500 MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and events) buyers in France this week – at Pure Meetings & Events, a B2B workshop in Paris. Four tourism companies from the island of Ireland joined Tourism Ireland at the event.

The event – which included one-to-one commercial meetings and networking – was a valuable opportunity for the tourism companies from Ireland to connect with the influential French buyers, to ensure they recommend the island of Ireland to their clients for future meetings and incentive travel from France.

Business Events – i.e., the corporate meetings, events and incentive travel industry – is recognised as a key driver of economic growth. Business travel is high value and often midweek and off season by its nature, thereby aligning with Tourism Ireland’s strategy to grow overseas tourism revenue outside of the peak summer season.

David Boyce, Tourism Ireland’s Head of Business Events and Luxury, said: “PURE Meetings & Events was an excellent platform to showcase the island of Ireland as a superb destination for Business Events. The format of one-to-one appointments provided a valuable opportunity for our partners from Ireland to network and do business with the French MICE buyers in attendance – ensuring Ireland is ‘top of mind’ for them when they’re recommending destinations to their clients for future meetings and incentive travel.”

‘Meet in Ireland’ is the official MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and events) brand for the island of Ireland, comprising Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Northern Ireland, who work in partnership to promote the island of Ireland as a leading business events destination.
