Spanish travel agents visit Northern Ireland

A leading Spanish tour operator, Catai, and a group of its top-producing travel agents have been visiting Northern Ireland, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Tourism NI.

The travel professionals, who all specialise in high-end holidays, were here to experience at first-hand the wealth of things to see and do here for Spanish holidaymakers. Their action-packed itinerary included Killeavy Castle Estate, Titanic Belfast, Titanic Distillers, Mussenden Temple and Brook Hall Estate & Gardens, as well as a walking tour of the Walled City of Derry and a visit to Hillsborough Castle and Gardens.

The aim of the visit was to familiarise the Spanish travel agents with Northern Ireland and our superb tourism offering, so they’ll be better informed and more enthusiastic than ever about the destination when advising their clients about planning and booking their holidays here.

Susan Bolger, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Spain, said:“We were delighted to invite these Spanish travel professionals to come and experience Northern Ireland. Their visit was an excellent opportunity to showcase our superb tourism offering, including our fantastic food and drink, outdoor experiences and visitor attractions. Working with the travel trade is an important element of Tourism Ireland’s promotional activity in Spain.”

In 2019, we welcomed almost 38,000 Spanish visitors to Northern Ireland, whose visits delivered almost £9 million for the economy.
