Spanish travel agents explore Northern Ireland

A leading Spanish tour operator, Tourmundial, and a group of travel agents working with Viajes El Corte Inglés – the travel agency network of Spanish retailing giant El Corte Inglés – have been exploring Northern Ireland, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Tourism NI.

The travel professionals, who all specialise in high-end travel, were here to experience at first-hand the wealth of things to see and do here for Spanish holidaymakers. Their action-packed itinerary included Killowen Distillery, Titanic Belfast and Glenarm Castle. The group visited Dunseverick Castle and did a guided walk along the Causeway Coast with Away a Wee Walk. They also enjoyed a walking tour of the walled city of Derry, lunch in the Walled City Brewery and a LegenDerry food tour.

The aim of the visit was to familiarise the Spanish visitors with Northern Ireland and our superb tourism offering, so they’ll be better informed and more enthusiastic than ever about the destination when advising their clients about planning and booking their holidays here.

Susan Bolger, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Spain, said:“We were delighted to invite these Spanish travel professionals to come and experience Northern Ireland. Their visit was an excellent opportunity to showcase our superb tourism offering, including our fantastic food and drink offering and our superb outdoor experiences and attractions.

“Working with the travel trade is an important element of Tourism Ireland’s promotional activity in Spain, so fact-finding visits for groups like this are really important. Our aim is that they will be even more enthusiastic about the destination when they return home, helping to secure a greater share of their business for Northern Ireland in 2023 and beyond.”
