Spanish journalists have a ‘write good time’ in Northern Ireland

Millions of Spaniards to read all about Belfast and the Causeway Coastal Route

Journalists from a number of high-profile Spanish media outlets – including major daily newspapers – have been exploring Northern Ireland, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Tourism Northern Ireland.

The journalists – who have a combined reach of millions – flew to Belfast on the direct easyJet flight from Barcelona. Tourism Ireland’s aim is to shine a spotlight on some of the many great things to see and do in Northern Ireland to potential Spanish holidaymakers – via the articles and content these journalists will share – and to highlight ease of access from Barcelona and Catalonia to Northern Ireland.

Susan Bolger, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Spain, said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite these influential Spanish journalists to come and discover some of our superb visitor attractions and experiences. This is an exciting time for Northern Ireland, with lots to inspire potential visitors, including the Belfast 2024 cultural programme.

“Tourism Ireland undertakes a busy publicity programme around the world each year to raise the profile of Northern Ireland – and visits by influential journalists like these are a key element of that programme. The articles and content the journalists share will be read by millions of people – so this visit is a really good opportunity to showcase Northern Ireland and inspire a wide audience of prospective Spanish visitors to begin planning a holiday here.”

During their time here, the journalists visited Titanic Belfast and Titanic Distillers, took part in a bespoke Belfast Traditional Music Trail and enjoyed a guided tour of Belfast City Hall. They also travelled along the Causeway Coastal Route, stopping off at key locations such as Carrickfergus Castle, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and the Giant’s Causeway.
