Promoting the island of Ireland for Business Events in Germany

Ten tourism companies from the island of Ireland joined Tourism Ireland in Germany this week, promoting Ireland as the ideal destination for corporate meetings and incentive travel.

The ‘Meet in Ireland’ showcase visited Frankfurt and Cologne and involved B2B events in each city, where the tourism companies from Ireland – all specialists in Business Events – connected with around 25 German meeting and incentive travel planners. Tourism Ireland’s message is that the island of Ireland offers a winning combination of world-class infrastructure, unique and luxurious accommodation, state-of-the-art venues, spectacular landscapes and fantastic hospitality, making it the perfect destination for meetings and incentive travel.

Nadine Lehmann, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for DACH countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), said: “Our ‘Meet in Ireland’ dual-city showcase provides a great platform to promote the island of Ireland as a premier destination for Business Events. We are delighted to have ten tourism companies from the island of Ireland with us in Frankfurt and Cologne, showcasing the best of Ireland to influential German meeting and incentive travel planners.

“Business travel is high value and often midweek and off season by its nature, thereby aligning with Tourism Ireland’s ambition to grow overseas tourism revenue outside of the peak summer season and support businesses across the island.”

‘Meet in Ireland’ is the official MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and events) brand for the island of Ireland, comprising Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Northern Ireland, who work in partnership to promote the island of Ireland as a leading Business Events destination.
