Promoting Ireland at important Asian golf tourism convention

Tourism Ireland – together with four golf and tourism operators from Ireland – has been promoting our world-class golf at the IAGTO Asian Golf Tourism Convention in Pattaya, in Thailand, this week.

The convention, which was attended by golf and travel professionals from around the world, was an excellent platform for the companies from Ireland to engage in two days of one-to-one, pre-scheduled appointments and networking sessions. The event provided a valuable opportunity to negotiate and exchange vital contracts for 2026 and beyond.

Aisling McDermott, Tourism Ireland’s Head of Global Partnerships, said: “The IAGTO Asian Golf Tourism Convention was a fantastic opportunity to highlight our world-class golf to influential golf travel professionals, negotiate new business and secure international golf visitors for the island of Ireland for 2026 and beyond. Our message is that Ireland offers international golfers the complete package – with some of the very best golf in the world, as well as spectacular scenery, fantastic experiences and warm hospitality.

“Our participation at this convention is just one element of Tourism Ireland’s busy promotional programme to inspire more international golfers to choose the island of Ireland. We’re also taking every opportunity to highlight the fact that Adare Manor will host the Ryder Cup next year and that the Walker Cup will take place in Lahinch and the Irish Open at Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg this year.”

Tourism Ireland will also participate in other IAGTO conventions this year – including the European Golf Convention in Spain, in May, and the North American Convention in Mexico, in June.
