Northern Ireland showcased to GB travel professionals
Ten GB tour operators are visiting Northern Ireland this week, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Tourism NI.
They are taking part in a fact-finding visit, to experience for themselves the high standard and variety of our tourism offering – from our stunning scenery to immersive cultural experiences and hidden gems of heritage – and to inspire new itineraries and experiences for inclusion in their future travel programmes.
In Armagh, the group visited Long Meadow Cider, tried their hand at road bowling and toured St Patrick’s Cathedral. Then it was on to Fermanagh, for a cruise along Lough Erne with Erne Water Taxi, site visits to Lough Erne Resort and Finn Lough and a tour of Boatyard Distillery.
Julie Wakley, Tourism Ireland’s Head of GB, said: “Tourism Ireland is delighted to welcome this group of GB tour operators, who bring visitors at scale, to explore Northern Ireland’s superb history and heritage. Experiencing our tourism offering at first hand, from our heritage attractions and natural landscapes to our food and drink experiences, helps our operator partners better understand what makes Northern Ireland such an appealing destination. We look forward to seeing these experiences feature in future travel programmes for GB visitors.”
