Italian travel agents explore Ireland
One of Italy’s leading tour operators, Francorosso, and 18 of its top-producing travel agents from Milan and Rome, have been exploring Ireland – as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.
The aim of the travel agents’ fact-finding visit is to familiarise them with our superb tourism offering, so that when they return home, they will be better informed and more enthusiastic than ever when advising their clients about planning and booking their holidays in Ireland. The group’s itinerary included a walking tour of Galway city, the Aillwee Burren Experience, the Cliffs of Moher, King John's Castle, Treaty City Brewery, Muckross House, a walking tour of Kilkenny city, Kilkenny Castle and Russborough House. The Guinness Storehouse, Dublinia and Christ Church Cathedral completed their busy programme.
Marcella Ercolini, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Italy, said: “Francorosso is one of Italy’s leading tour operators and we were delighted to invite their top travel agents to visit. Our aim is that when they return home, they will be even more enthusiastic about the destination, helping to secure a greater share of their business for Ireland in 2026 and beyond.
“Italy is an important market for tourism to Ireland and fact-finding visits like this are a key element of the work that Tourism Ireland undertakes with our valued travel trade partners in Italy.”
