Ireland says ‘Willkommen’

German luxury travel professionals explore Ireland’s Ancient East and Dublin

A group of German travel agents and journalists – all specialising in luxury travel – has been exploring Ireland’s Ancient East and Dublin, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.

The aim of the visit was to showcase some of the many things to see and do here for high-end German travellers and to highlight some of our fantastic luxury and culinary experiences.

The group’s action-packed itinerary included a VIP culinary experience with Hidden Howth Experiences, a private tour of the Irish National Stud & Gardens, afternoon tea at the Powerscourt Hotel and a VIP experience at the Guinness Storehouse. At Johnnie Fox’s pub, they enjoyed a night of traditional Irish music and dance. The group also visited Mount Juliet Estate for a fine dining experience in the Lady Helen restaurant.

Nadine Lehmann, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Germany, said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite this group of luxury travel agents and journalists to visit Ireland’s Ancient East and Dublin, to experience at first-hand some of our luxury tourism offering, including our boutique hotels and resorts – as well as our rich culture and heritage, and not forgetting our superb culinary experiences.

“Seeing is believing – and our aim is that when they return home, they will be even more enthusiastic about the destination, helping to secure a greater share of their business for Ireland.”

Germany is the third-largest source of visitors to the island of Ireland and one of the largest outbound travel markets in the world. In 2019, we welcomed 749,000 German visitors to the island of Ireland.
