Ireland is ULTRA popular in Arizona!

Promoting the island of Ireland to American luxury travel buyers

Five tourism companies from the island of Ireland joined Tourism Ireland in Scottsdale in Arizona, for the tenth annual Luxury Travel Advisors (LTA) ULTRA Summit.

LTA ULTRA Summit is a three-day event attended by travel buyers from the United States who specialise in high-spend luxury travel. The invite-only event involved a programme of bespoke one-to-one appointments – offering an excellent opportunity for the tourism companies from Ireland to meet, and do business with, the luxury travel buyers. The aim was to ensure that the island of Ireland is ‘top of mind’ for the buyers when recommending destinations and planning programmes for their clients.

Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America, said: “This week’s LTA ULTRA Summit in Scottsdale is another excellent platform for Tourism Ireland and our partners to promote the superb luxury tourism offering available right around the island of Ireland – from our boutique hotels, castles and luxury resorts to our rich culture and heritage.

“The LTA ULTRA Summit offers a really good opportunity to increase awareness of the island of Ireland among the luxury US travel buyers in attendance and to secure a greater share of their valuable business for 2023 and beyond.”

The United States remains an extremely important market for tourism to the island of Ireland. In 2019, we welcomed 1.7 million American visitors, whose visits delivered €1.6 billion for the economy.
