Ireland hits the road in China!

Tourism Ireland and partners join four-city China sales blitz with ETOA and VisitBritain

The island of Ireland was showcased to around 180 Chinese tour operators and travel agents in four cities across China this week, at the European Tourism Association (ETOA) China European Marketplace and a series of joint B2B events with VisitBritain in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai.

Seven tourism companies from the island of Ireland took part in the China sales blitz, which involved workshops and networking opportunities in each city. It provided a great opportunity to meet and do business with the Chinese travel professionals, to encourage them to extend their Ireland offering, or to include the island of Ireland for the first time, in their programmes for 2026 and beyond.

Aisling McDermott, Tourism Ireland’s Head of Global Partnerships, said:“We’re delighted that around 180 key Chinese travel professionals took the time to come and meet with our partners from Ireland, to learn all about our superb tourism offering. Our aim is to increase their awareness of the island of Ireland, to help us secure a greater share of their business for Ireland in 2026 and beyond.”
