GB journalists explore Causeway Coast’s gems
5.3 million people in GB set to read all about Causeway Coast
Five journalists – writing for GB magazines and newspapers with a combined reach of around 5.3 million – have been exploring the Causeway Coast, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Tourism NI.
The group’s itinerary began with a golf lesson at Royal Portrush – venue for The Open in July – which was followed by a visit to the Giant’s Causeway, a glassmaking workshop at The Boat House Gallery and Studio and a tasting tour at Old Bushmills Distillery. The journalists also enjoyed a ‘Spirit of the Bann’ experience with Causeway Coast Foodie Tours and a visit to HotBox Sea Sauna at Benone beach. A surf lesson with Alive Adventures in Portrush and a willow weaving class with Atlantic Craft NI completed the itinerary.
Judith Cassidy, Tourism Ireland’s Acting Head of GB, said: “Tourism Ireland is delighted to invite these influential GB journalists to discover first-hand the amazing experiences on offer along the Causeway Coast. From stunning scenery, water-based activities and wellness experiences, this part of Northern Ireland really has something special to offer our GB visitors. The articles these journalists will write when they return home will be read by around 5.3 million potential GB holidaymakers, so this visit is a great opportunity to showcase our tourism offering.
“Tourism Ireland undertakes a busy publicity programme around the world each year to raise the profile of Northern Ireland and the island of Ireland – and visits by influential journalists like these are a key element of that programme.”
