Austrian travel journalists discover Northern Ireland’s UNESCO sites

2.3M+ Austrians to read all about Northern Ireland’s unique heritage

Leading Austrian travel journalists have been exploring Northern Ireland’s UNESCO sites, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Tourism NI. The group – which includes representatives of various national and regional newspapers – has a combined reach of more than 2.3 million readers across Austria.  

The aim of the visit is to showcase the cultural and natural landmarks that have gained the significant international UNESCO recognition – including Mourne Gullion Strangford UNESCO Geopark, Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark, the Giant’s Causeway and the Moravian Church Settlement in Gracehill. The group also explored Belfast. which was designated a UNESCO City of Music in 2021. Killeavy Castle Estate, Navan Centre & Fort, the Marble Arch Caves, the Ulster American Folk Park, the historic walls in Derry-Londonderry and Titanic Belfast also featured on the journalists’ itinerary.
