Australian travel TV show returns to Ireland’s ‘Great Outdoors’ to film new series

The island of Ireland’s scenery spotlighted to millions of Australians this summer

Tourism Ireland has once again teamed up with the Seven Network, a major TV network in Australia, to film segments on the island of Ireland that will air across three episodes of its series The Great Outdoors. Broadcasting this summer on the national channel, Channel 7, each episode will reach approximately 1 million viewers across Australia. Filming is supported by Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Tourism NI.

The TV crew – including Australian TV presenter Teigan Nash – has been filming at numerous locations including The Gobbins, Glenarm Castle and The Harbourview Hotel on the Causeway Coastal Route and enjoying some breadmaking and canoeing at Tracey’s Farmhouse Kitchen on the shores of Strangford Lough. The crew also filmed in Kilkenny at Highbank Orchards, Kilkenny Design Centre, Mount Juliet and with Hurling Tours Ireland at O'Loughlin Gaels GAA Club. They also visited Burren Smokehouse, The Burren Perfumery and Aillwee Burren Experience, in Clare.

Sofia Hansson, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Australia and New Zealand, said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite ‘The Great Outdoors’ crew back to Ireland to film for their latest series with Australian TV presenter Teigan Nash. It’s a wonderful opportunity to highlight our fantastic outdoor activities and spectacular scenery to millions of Australians, inspiring them to come and experience the destination for themselves.”
