Spotlight on Northern Ireland in London

Top GB travel and lifestyle journalists and influencers hear all about Northern Ireland

Thirty (30) top GB travel editors, journalists and influencers attended a special Northern Ireland showcase event in London – organised by Tourism Ireland. 

The journalists – representing a wide range of print, broadcast and online media outlets –heard all about the many good news stories for Northern Ireland tourism in 2022. The opening of Game of Thrones Studio Tour at Linen Mill Studios, the 10th anniversary of Titanic Belfast and the recent designation of Belfast as a UNESCO City of Music were highlighted. The team from Belfast City of Music shared plans about promoting the city’s rich music heritage this year; and guests were entertained by singer-songwriter Dani Larkin and musicians from the Belfast Traditional Music Trail.

Tourism Ireland also highlighted Northern Ireland’s screen tourism success. The organisation is celebrating the new Belfast film and leveraging its huge popularity right now. Interviews secured with Sir Kenneth Brannagh and some of the cast members of Belfast – capturing the warmth and fondness they have for Belfast and Northern Ireland – have been used to create a new short video. Click here to view the video. And, Tourism Ireland will sponsor the final series of Derry Girls on Channel 4, set to air this spring.
