Wild Atlantic Way provides backdrop for ITV series The Car Years

Over 1 million people across Britain to tune in to the Wild Atlantic Way

Images of the Wild Atlantic Way will be beamed into the homes of over 1 million people across Great Britain, in a new season of a popular TV series called The Car Years, when episodes one and two air on ITV4 this evening (9 August).
The eight-part series was filmed entirely along the Wild Atlantic Way and was supported by Tourism Ireland. Over the eight episodes – which focus on eight classic motoring years – the show’s presenters, Vicki Butler-Henderson and Alex Riley, will each select a car that they believe is worthy of being crowned the best classic car of that particular year.
Viewers will see the classic cars being put through their paces on some of the most picturesque driving routes along the Wild Atlantic Way – including the Ring of Kerry and the Conor Pass. They will also see Vicki and Alex visit the Kilgarvan Motor Museum, Connemara Airport, Ballynahinch Castle and Galway city.
