The Netherlands

The island of Ireland welcomed a record 241,000 visitors from the Netherlands in 2016 spending over €100 million.  Around 30,000 of whom included an overnight in Northern Ireland and spent almost £10 million.

Recent results published by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) confirm that arrivals from the Netherlands to Ireland increased further by +5% in 2017 – that’s more than 10,000 extra arrivals from the Netherlands when compared to 2016.

The Netherlands is an increasingly important market for tourism to the island of Ireland.

Results for the first half of 2017 from the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA)  suggest that visitors from Mainland Europe to Northern Ireland increased by +13% and nights spent in Northern Ireland increased by +23%.
