Ireland’s premier outdoor and wellness festival, Wander Wild (17–19 April), has unveiled its most ambitious programme yet, with over 120 events blending adventure and well-being. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Killarney National Park – a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve – the festival invites thrill seekers, nature lovers, and wellness devotees to choose their journey towards reconnection with nature, creativity and community.

Among the newly announced events are the Social Summit of Mangerton with Tadgh O’Brien, and a special screening of Ellie Berry’s short film, documenting her extraordinary world record achievement of climbing all 275 Irish mountains over 600m. Adventure-seekers can also take part in a mountain scrambling masterclass on some of Ireland’s most challenging ridges, and explore Killarney's Wild Hidden Valley hike: The Horses Glen with Killian Buckley.

New for 2026 are guided hikes on off-the-beaten-paths including routes on North Mangerton Mountain and to the summit of Carrauntoohil (Ireland’s highest mountain) via The Heavenly Gates. A sensory-friendly rock-climbing event offers those with ADD/ADHD the opportunity to experience the thrill of climbing at the stunning Gap of Dunloe, adding to the many other festival events designed especially for neurodivergent attendees. And at the new Wildlings sanctuary for families, little adventurers can enjoy playful yoga, mindful crafts, storytelling, and nature-inspired calm.

Nature and heritage come together through a Monastic Ruins, Temperate Woodlands and Waterfalls experience, along with wild-food foraging walks and workshops

Well-being events now include an Eco Therapy Session providing a guided sensory immersion in nature and Bígí Linn Ground & Connect, a movement and meditation practice. In line with the festival’s broader focus on creativity and culture, Focal agus Fód: Language and Land through Art, will explore how art can question and celebrate the stories embedded in placenames, traditions, and myth, while Plámásing introduces a talk-show style event featuring musicians, artists and comedians.

Culture and connection sit at the heart of Wander Wild. New additions include Focal & Fód, exploring Irish language and art; Echoes of Earth and Water, combining a boat journey with a guided walk; and an intimate cacao ceremony focused on intention-setting and reflection.

Many of Wander Wild’s most loved signature experiences return for 2026 including the Dark Sky Hike under one of the world’s most pristine skies, the Guided Bat Walk and a Guided National Park Walk with local rangers. There will also be all the usual hiking, climbing, cycling, swimming, kayaking and paddle-boarding experiences that make the most of this spectacular landscape.

The much-loved Fireside Chats return with a fresh line-up of inspiring speakers sharing stories of resilience, exploration, and connection—including Chris Barrett (From the Arctic to the Amazon), an inspirational workshop with Gerry Hussey, How to Gael, and others soon to be announced.

At the Wellness Hub at Killarney House and Gardens there will be a full schedule of yoga, Pilates, breathwork, sound bath, meditation and slow movement. New experiences will include a deeply nourishing ceremonial Cacao experience, Ecstatic Dance, Five Element Flow, A Gathering of Men, and Child of the Earth – an inner child movement journey.

The fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down as the festival has a vibrant after-dark programme that aims to deepen connections made on the trails, lakes and yoga mats.

Attendees can gather for fireside chats with local adventurers, enjoy Sacred Sip and Paint sessions, live music events and WanderWine at Luna, where natural food and drinks help unwind body and mind after a day outdoors.

Wander Wild continues to champion affordability, with lots of free events alongside the ticketed activities. It also has a strong focus on sustainability, and attendees are encouraged to opt for eco-conscious travel and choose the excellent sustainable accommodation in the vicinity.

This amazing and unique festival is ideal for groups and solo travellers, and whether they come for adventure, stillness, fun or connection, all leave re-energised and with a new sense of fulfilment.
