Midleton Distillery reveals redeveloped tour and cocktail experiences
Midleton Distillery, Co. Cork
Showcasing all seven of Irish Distillers’ whiskey brands including Jameson, the world’s most awarded Irish whiskey, as well as Redbreast, Midleton Very Rare, Powers, The Spot Whiskeys, Method and Madness, and Knappogue Castle, the new distillery tours feature entertaining, interactive experiences.
These now include behind-the-scenes tours, prestige portfolio tastings, cocktail making masterclasses and an Irish Whiskey Academy.
Led by Brand and Craft Ambassadors, the flagship Midleton Distillery Experience Tour brings visitors face-to-face with the world’s largest pot still. The Behind-The-Scenes tour visits the many special distillery buildings including The Cooperage and Distillers Cottage. Visitors can also visit one of Midleton’s original whiskey Maturation Warehouses to learn about the Angel’s Share and to draw and taste a blended whiskey straight from a cask.
For aficionados seeking a more in-depth educational whiskey experience, the Discoverer Academy goes deeper into the production process, from grain to glass, brought to life through interactive and sensorial experiments before a visit to the production site.

The new Midleton Cocktail Class fully immerses visitors in the cocktail-making experience, as they prepare and enjoy three specially curated seasonal cocktails using award-winning Jameson Irish Whiskey, Jameson Black Barrel and Jameson Crested whiskeys and local ingredients. The masterclass is led by an expert Midleton Mixologist in the custom-designed Kiln Bar located in the upper floors within the original distillery buildings. Each cocktail station comes fully equipped with everything required to create a Whiskey Sour, an Old Fashioned and Jameson Punch. Visitors will also receive a cocktail recipe book as a memento of their experience, enabling them to recreate the signature serves at home.
The Midleton Distillery is one of two Jameson distilleries in Ireland, the other being at the original distillery site established by John Jameson in Bow Street Dublin in 1780. The Dublin site is now home to a range of Jameson whiskey experiences including the guided tour that was named the World’s Leading Distillery Tour.
The Jameson distilleries are two of 28 distilleries that can be visited on the island of Ireland enabling whiskey lovers to discover the people and stories behind new and long-established brands. Information about tours and a map of the distilleries’ locations are available from Irishwhiskey360o.
