Ballyknocken Launches Immersive Food and Farm Experience

Catherine Fulvio, owner of Ballyknocken Cookery School, County Wicklow
Ballyknocken Cookery School, founded by award‑winning cook, author and broadcaster Catherine Fulvio, has launched a new immersive tourism experience that brings international visitors into the heart of Irish food, farming and culture.
The new programme, “From Land to Hearth: An Irish Food & Farm Immersion at Ballyknocken,” invites guests to step beyond the kitchen and into the living story of Irish food — shaped by the land, the seasons and generations of tradition — on Catherine’s fourth‑generation family farm in the Wicklow countryside.
Known as the “Garden of Ireland,” County Wicklow offers visitors a serene rural experience within easy reach of Dublin. Its close proximity to the capital makes it an ideal addition to any Ireland itinerary, blending city exploration with the beauty and flavours of Ireland’s countryside.
Far more than a conventional cookery class, From Land to Hearth offers a holistic journey through Ireland’s culinary heritage. Visitors stroll the farm, gather ingredients from the kitchen gardens, cook both traditional and modern Irish dishes, and come together around the farmhouse table to experience Irish hospitality at its most authentic.
“Irish food has always been shaped by the land, the seasons and the people who worked them,” says Catherine Fulvio. “At Ballyknocken, we want guests to understand not just how we cook, but why our food matters and how it tells the story of Ireland itself.”
