Step into a world of wellness and adventure at the Wander Wild Festival in stunningly beautiful Killarney National Park.

Wander Wild, Outdoor, Festival, Killarney, Co Kerry

Taking place from 4 to 6 April 2025, the Wander Wild Festival invites adrenaline junkies, outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers to hike, bike, run, ride, swim or simply be still and breathe in Killarney’s majestic mountain and lake landscape.

The weekend is packed with activities designed to invigorate, inspire and renew, ranging from sunrise swimming, mountain hiking, kayaking and cycling to yoga and mindfulness sessions, lakeside saunas and storytelling events.

You can choose your own adventure from over 100 events across the weekend or be guided by suggested itineraries that the festival has developed for three distinct visitor types.

The Adventure Seeker itinerary includes rock climbing, mountain hiking, stand-up paddling and a guided bat walk. For the Wellness Wanderers the suggested activities are yoga, forest bathing, breathwork, painting and a guided mountain hike. And those who like to mix culture and action are encouraged to kayak to an historic castle, enjoy a sunrise dip, take a guided mountain hike to discover the wonderful local flora and fauna or relax at a somatic healing experience.

This year the expanded Wellness Hub offers even more soul-nourishing experiences such as Flow in Intuition, Candlelight Yin, Grounded Connection, Movement & Sound – Somative Healing, and Chakra Journey.

After a day of activity, evening entertainment at the festival offers the opportunity to relax and connect with like-minded attendees. A concert at St Mary’s Church – the festival’s basecamp, a Seanoíche (Irish storytelling) session and the popular Fireside Chats where ordinary people who have achieved extraordinary things tell their story, are among the events.

Killarney’s food vendors will also be showcasing the local culinary delights while exhibitions and talks by inspiring speakers will nourish the mind and spark creativity.

Killarney National Park is a UNESCO-protected biosphere reserve and the festival aims to create an eco-friendly experience that protects the landscape. Attendees are encouraged to travel by public transport to Killarney and then hop on shuttle buses to reach the out-of-town festival activities. Eco-conscious accommodation options like glamping and hostels are also readily available to help reduce the festival’s footprint.

With a renewed focus on openness, inclusion, and diversity, the 2025 Wander Wild Festival includes many events suitable for people with disabilities. And a number of free events over the festival weekend ensures that there is something for all budgets as well as all interests and all levels of fitness, so that everyone can take the chance to embrace the great outdoors.
