4.3 million French read all about the island of Ireland
Some 4.3 million readers of GEO
magazine in France are reading all about the island of Ireland right now. The July edition of the glossy travel magazine includes a major 43-page spread dedicated entirely to the island of Ireland and features a stunning image of Lough Corrib in Co Galway on the cover.
Tourism Ireland in Paris, in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland and Tourism NI, invited journalist and photographer Sébastien Desurmont to visit last January. The resulting article appears under the headline “Irlande: Cap sur l'Île d'Émeraude”
(roughly translated as “Ireland: Next stop, Emerald Isle”) and highlights places like the Aran Islands, Cork city and Derry-Londonderry. The article includes lots of great photos and also features Leitrim, Sligo and the Causeway Coast.
Monica MacLaverty, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Southern Europe, said: “Tourism Ireland is delighted with the superb coverage in this month’s edition of GEO magazine. Sébastien Desurmont’s article and photos will be seen and read by around 4.3 million readers of GEO magazine. It’s a great way of keeping the island of Ireland to the fore in France and we look forward to welcoming French visitors to Ireland, as soon as the time is right.”
