Leading Dutch and Belgian tour operators, travel agents and online travel agents have been exploring Northern Ireland this week. They were here as guests of Tourism Ireland and Tourism NI.
The group’s action-packed itinerary included an immersive Games of Thrones tour, with visits to Castle Ward and Tollymore Forest. They also enjoyed a city tour of Belfast, stopping at Titanic Belfast and the Crumlin Road Gaol. The following day, they travelled along the Causeway Coastal Route and enjoyed a guided walking tour of The Gobbins at Islandmagee and a visit to the Bushmills Distillery.
“We were delighted to have the opportunity to showcase Northern Ireland to these top Dutch and Belgian travel specialists,” said Peter Nash, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Northern Europe. “There is really no substitute for being able to come here and experience what Northern Ireland has to offer at first-hand. Our aim is that when these tour operators and travel agents return home, they will be better informed and really enthusiastic about the destination, which will in turn help to secure a greater share of their business for Northern Ireland.”
