~ New flights and expanded services are good news for Irish tourism in the off-season months ~
Tourism Ireland warmly welcomes today’s announcement by Ryanair of new flights to Dublin from some of our key markets, for winter 2019 – including new services from London Southend, Bournemouth, Milan (Malpensa), Pisa, Bordeaux and Gothenburg, as well as an increase in services from Cologne. These new and increased services will certainly help boost tourism from the British, Italian, French, German and Swedish markets.
Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland, said: “A key focus for Tourism Ireland is to grow business in the off-peak and shoulder seasons, so today’s announcement by Ryanair is really good news. We already work closely with Ryanair and we look forward to co-operating with them to maximise the promotion of their services to Dublin Airport, to drive business in the off-peak months.
“As an island, the importance of convenient, direct, non-stop flights cannot be overstated – they are absolutely critical to achieving growth in inbound tourism. Today’s announcement by Ryanair is really positive and augurs well for prospects for tourism to Ireland in 2019 and beyond.”
