~ 3+ million to read all about Belfast ~
Top travel writers and bloggers from Canada, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, the UAE and Hong Kong – who have a combined audience of more than three million readers – are visiting Belfast this week. Their visit was arranged by Tourism Ireland in conjunction with Tourism NI.
The journalists followed an action-packed itinerary, to discover some of the many things to see and do around Belfast. They did a Black Taxi tour and visited the Crumlin Road Gaol, Titanic Belfast, SS Nomadic and HMS Caroline. They also enjoyed a walking tour, taking in Tourism Ireland’s six ‘Glass of Thrones’ installations around the city. The following day, they took part in a food walking tour with Taste and Tour NI and spent time at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens.
Siobhan McManamy, Tourism Ireland’s Director of Markets, said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite these influential travel writers and bloggers to Northern Ireland this week, to experience for themselves some of the many great things to see and do here.
“Publicity is an important element of Tourism Ireland’s overall promotional programme, helping to raise awareness through the media around the world of the many things to see and do on holiday in Northern Ireland. The articles these journalists and bloggers will write will be read by more than 3 million people – highlighting that Belfast is a great choice for a city break.”
