French travel buyers say ‘bonjour’ to Northern Ireland

Ten French travel buyers have been visiting Northern Ireland – as guests of Tourism Ireland, Tourism NI and Holiday Ireland Hotels. The buyers are clients of Quartier Libre – a travel agency based in Lyon which specialises in group travel business.

Their whistle-stop tour included a visit to Titanic Belfast and lunch in McHugh’s Bar, as well as a drive along the Causeway Coastal Route, with stops at the Old Bushmills Distillery and the Giant’s Causeway.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to showcase Northern Ireland to this group of French travel buyers,” said Monica MacLaverty, Tourism Ireland’s Head of Southern Europe. “There is really no substitute for being able to come here and experience what Northern Ireland has to offer at first-hand. Our aim is that when these buyers return home, they will be better informed and really enthusiastic about the destination, which will in turn help to secure a greater share of their business for Northern Ireland.”
