Spotlight on Ireland at travel fair in Rimini
The island of Ireland was promoted by Tourism Ireland to thousands of Italian travel professionals attending the annual TTG Incontri travel fair in Rimini.
Seven Irish and Italian tourism companies joined Tourism Ireland at TTG Incontri, an important B2B travel exhibition which attracts about 37,000 Italian travel professionals each year, including influential tour operators and travel agents, as well as leading Italian travel media.
Niamh Kinsella, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Italy, said: “Interest in visiting the island of Ireland remains strong among Italian travellers and our presence at TTG Incontri provided an excellent opportunity to spread the word about the many great things to see and do right around the island of Ireland and to encourage Italian travellers to put Ireland on their holiday ‘wish-list’ for 2018.
“2016 was the best year ever for tourism from Italy to Ireland, when we welcomed 336,000 Italian visitors, up +8% on 2015. Our presence at TTG Rimini is just one element of our extensive autumn campaign which is in full swing right now – aimed at boosting late-season travel to Ireland from Italy and at positioning us well for 2018.”
