Promoting Belfast and Northern Ireland in Italy

1+ million Italians to hear and see new Tourism Ireland campaign with Ryanair

Tourism Ireland has teamed up with Ryanair, to promote flights to Belfast from Milan (Bergamo) and to grow tourist numbers to Northern Ireland this summer. The campaign, which is under way right now, is promoting Belfast as the gateway to a holiday in Northern Ireland.

Working closely with airlines and airports to build demand for flights is a key priority for Tourism Ireland and this campaign includes ads on Radio 105 (a popular radio station in Lombardy), reaching more than 1.2 million people – or potential holidaymakers for Northern Ireland. The campaign also includes online ads on popular websites. 

Niamh Kinsella, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Italy, said: “We are delighted to partner with Ryanair, to highlight great value fares on flights from Milan and to help grow tourist numbers to Northern Ireland this summer. As an island, the importance of convenient, direct, non-stop flights cannot be overstated – they are absolutely critical to achieving growth in inbound tourism. Italy is an important market for tourism to Northern Ireland and we have a busy programme of promotions under way throughout 2017, to continue to grow visitor numbers from Italy.”
