Top tour operators and travel journalists in the UAE hear all about Northern Ireland
Tourism Ireland launched Northern Ireland’s Year of Food to travel professionals in Dubai this week. At the event, Tourism Ireland CEO Niall Gibbons highlighted Northern Ireland and our special Year of Food to some 50 influential tour operators, travel agents and journalists based in the UAE.
Attendees took part in a workshop, organised by Tourism Ireland in Dubai, where they also learned more about Northern Ireland’s tourist attractions – including the Causeway Coastal Route, The Gobbins Cliff Path and Titanic Belfast. They heard about the wonderful programme of events planned for Northern Ireland’s Year of Food, as well as Northern Ireland’s links with Game of Thrones and the locations used here for filming.
Speaking at the launch, Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland, said: “Tourism Ireland will take every opportunity to highlight the ever-growing list of things to see and do in Northern Ireland in Dubai, and elsewhere around the world, this year. We are inviting everyone to come and enjoy 366 days of celebration during Northern Ireland’s Year of Food – where they will discover the best of local produce and have the chance to experience the wonderful landscapes and coastline which make Northern Ireland so special. With so many great events planned for the year ahead, our message for people everywhere is that there has never been a better time to enjoy a true taste of Northern Ireland.”
Tourism Ireland will undertake a busy programme of promotions throughout 2016, to build on the growth in visitor numbers last year. As well as showcasing our superb food, Tourism Ireland will continue to promote the Causeway Coastal Route and The Gobbins Cliff Path, as well as other iconic experiences like Titanic Belfast, the Giant’s Causeway and our unique National Trust properties and, of course, our world-class golf courses.
