Tourism Ireland and partners attend International Luxury Travel Market in Cannes
Seventeen (17) tourism businesses from the island of Ireland joined Tourism Ireland in Cannes, France, for this year’s International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM). ILTM is an invitation-only event for the global luxury travel industry – which was attended this year by more than 1,500 influential travel agents and decision-makers working in the luxury travel sector, as well as by leading luxury travel editors and journalists from 170 publications across the globe.
ILTM takes place each year at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes. The busy four-day event involves a programme of bespoke one-to-one appointments and networking sessions – providing a wonderful opportunity for the Irish tourism enterprises to meet, and do business with, the influential travel agents who design unique, luxury travel itineraries for high net-worth international clients.
Tourism Ireland will be highlighting a number of key themes – including the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland’s Ancient East, Causeway Coastal Route, Belfast and Dublin, as well as luxury shopping in Ireland.
Mark Henry, Tourism Ireland’s Central Marketing Director, said: “Our participation at this year’s ILTM in Cannes was an excellent platform to showcase the superb luxury tourism product on offer right around the island of Ireland – from our boutique hotels, castles and luxury resorts, to our rich culture and heritage, and not forgetting our world-class golf and luxury shopping experiences. The format of one-to-one appointments provided an excellent opportunity to meet, and network with, new and established luxury travel agents and buyers from around the world – ensuring Ireland is ‘top of mind’ for them in 2017 when recommending destinations to their clients.”
