Taoiseach Enda Kenny was in Milan this week to view the Ireland pavilion at EXPO 2015. He met with Tourism Ireland staff, as well as some leading Italian tour operators who programme and sell holidays to Ireland.
Italy is an important market for tourism to the island of Ireland and the most recent CSO figures show growth of +26% in visitor numbers from Italy for the March to May period, an extra 16,100 Italian visitors compared with the same three-month period in 2014. Tourism Ireland is determined to ensure that tourism growth continues and has a busy programme of promotions under way right throughout 2015.
