Tourism Ireland says “I do” – again – to Kimye’s Irish honeymoon!
Tourism Ireland has today unveiled another fun video about the Irish honeymoon of celebrity couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West – this time called ‘The truth about Kimye’s honeymoon in Ireland’
The news that the couple known as ‘Kimye’ chose Ireland as their honeymoon destination has gone around the world this week – with media outlets from Sydney to Toronto covering the story and speculating about the exact whereabouts of Kim and Kanye.
Tourism Ireland decided to grab the unexpected opportunity for Irish tourism and unveiled a film
at the beginning of the week about what the couple might be doing – which has already been viewed about 200,000 times on the organisation’s various YouTube channels. Now that more details of the couple’s stay here have become public knowledge, Tourism Ireland’s second ‘Kimye’ film
, launched today, showcases the two chosen honeymoon hideaways – the 17th-century Castle Oliver in Co Limerick and Ballyfin Demesne in Co Laois. It also features footage of our spectacular scenery, including the Ballyhoura Mountains, and visitor attractions like the Rock of Cashel – as well as Portlaoise, where the couple were spotted coming out of the cinema, having watched the latest X Men film.
Mark Henry, Tourism Ireland’s Central Marketing Director, said: “The news earlier this week that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West chose Ireland for their honeymoon was an unexpected bonus for Irish tourism. We decided to take advantage of the hype and the huge global interest in the couple and created two short films – the first as a helpful guide to what the couple might be doing and the second one showcasing where they actually stayed and some detail of what they enjoyed during their time here. Our aim is to let their fans everywhere know what a great choice Ireland is and to inspire them to follow in their footsteps and begin planning their own honeymoon or holiday here.”
The film is being shared by Tourism Ireland with its Facebook fans (more than 2.1 million fans worldwide) and Twitter followers (130,000+), and on its various YouTube channels – letting Kimye fans everywhere know just how great Ireland is for a honeymoon, or a holiday or short break.
