800,000+ potential Dutch holidaymakers to tune in to Belfast and Co Down
One of the most popular travel TV shows in the Netherlands, 3 OP Reis (which means ‘Channel 3 Travels’), visited Belfast and Co Down last week. Invited here by Tourism Ireland in Amsterdam, the crew filmed some of the many unique and wonderful experiences on offer in Northern Ireland for Dutch holidaymakers.
Footage captured here will air this autumn to more than 800,000 people in Holland who have a passion for travel and adventure, on BNN (Bart's Neverending Network), one of the main Dutch TV channels targeting a young audience. It will include Belfast, Downpatrick, Newcastle, the Mournes and Carlingford Lough.
In Belfast, filming took place on the Lisburn Road, at the Ulster Museum, Queen’s University, City Hall, The MAC and Titanic Belfast. The crew also filmed in Co Down, at Down Cathedral and St Patrick’s Grave in Downpatrick, before travelling onto Newcastle and the Mournes, including the Spelga Dam and the Silent Valley. The crew then travelled on to Carlingford via Rostrevor, Warrenpoint and Newry. Their itinerary was designed by NITB.

Lifestyle programmes such as this are an excellent way for Tourism Ireland to get positive exposure for Northern Ireland in the Netherlands. The footage filmed here will be seen by more than 800,000 Dutch holidaymakers – encouraging them to come and experience the destination for themselves.”
