Ireland Means Business at New Exhibition in Canada

Several tourism companies from around the island of Ireland travelled to Canada last week, to join Tourism Ireland at the Ignite Business Expo – a brand new exhibition for the MICE (meetings, incentive, conferences and events) industry which took place in Toronto.

Attracting hundreds of leading business tourism buyers from Canada, the US and elsewhere around the world, the two-day event offered excellent opportunities for the participating Irish tourism partners to network and do business face-to-face with these influential decision-makers, to showcase their product and to communicate what is unique about the island of Ireland as a conference and business tourism destination.

Jayne Shackleford, Tourism Ireland’s manager in Canada, said: “Ignite is a brand new opportunity for Tourism Ireland and our partners to build awareness in Canada of the world-class business and conference facilities, as well as the great experiences delegates can enjoy in Ireland on the sidelines of their conference or meeting. We were pleased so many of these key business tourism decision-makers took the time to come and meet our Irish partners, to hear about our superb meetings and conference facilities and what makes the island of Ireland unique as a business destination.”

Tourism Ireland’s busy programme of activity to grow business tourism from North America this year includes a number of events, promotions and familiarisation visits which are highlighting ease of access, the great facilities and good value rates available for meetings and conferences here and getting the island of Ireland known for excellence in business support.
