Tourism Ireland is undertaking an extensive first-half marketing campaign to build on the success of 2018 and continue to grow overseas tourism to the island of Ireland in 2019.
The Wild Atlantic Way, the Causeway Coastal Route, Ireland’s Ancient East, Belfast and Dublin continue to be a major focus of Tourism Ireland’s promotions in 2019. The organisation will continue to leverage its strength in digital and social media. Screen tourism will remain a priority and, in particular, Tourism Ireland will take every opportunity to leverage the final series of Game of Thrones, which will launch in mid-April. Tourism Ireland will roll out a new campaign to coincide with the final (eighth) series, highlighting Northern Ireland as ‘Game of Thrones Territory’ to fans everywhere. Tourism Ireland will also take every opportunity to highlight The 148th Open at Royal Portrush. Promotional activity will encourage those attending the event to extend their stay in Northern Ireland and will also showcase Northern Ireland as a host of world-class events and, by extension, a superb golf and holiday destination.
