visitors each year. This year, Tourism
Ireland organised a Titanic-themed
press event during ITB, which was
attended by top German travel writers.
TITANIC AND ni2012 REACH 1M+
EUROPEANS AT TRAVEL FAIRS
In excess of one million people around Mainland Europe have had the
opportunity this year to find out about the fantastic holiday experience
on offer here. A strong Titanic, Belfast and ni2012 focus featured on
the Tourism Ireland stands at travel fairs like FITUR in Spain,
Vakantiebeurs in the Netherlands, CMT and ITB in Germany, MAP
in France and BIT in Italy.
BLITZING’ NORTH AMERICA
A strong Northern Ireland presence was also mounted earlier this year at a series of sales blitzes in the US and Canada, with events
in Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta, Tampa, Boston and Toronto; at the PGA Golf Show in Orlando; at the Philadelphia Flower Show,
where the Titanic menu was recreated during cooking demos; and at the LA Times Travel Show, which featured a Northern Ireland
culinary showcase by Conor and Bernie McClelland from Rayanne House in Holywood, Co Down.
