Over seventy
million people around the world claim links with the
island of Ireland and Tourism Ireland is this week
hosting an action packed programme of consumer, media
and trade events from Sydney to Shanghai to capitalise
on the global interest in all things Irish.
The organisation, which is responsible for
growing overseas tourism to the island, will be tapping
into the interest and goodwill generated by the St
Patrick’s celebrations around the world as part of its
€50 million, world-wide programme of advertising,
marketing and promotion aimed at attracting a record 9.3
million visitors to the island of Ireland this
year.
