RONAN KEATING SAYS ‘GUTEN TAG’

24 Mar 2010

Boyzone’s Ronan Keating welcomed leading German journalists to his concert at the brand new Grand Canal Theatre and to his home town of Dublin, last night.

The journalists – from popular German magazines and websites – were in Dublin on a fact-finding trip, invited here by Tourism Ireland in Frankfurt in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland.  Their itinerary included a tour of the Guinness Storehouse as well as a visit to the Design Centre in the Powerscourt Centre.  The highlight of their visit was the Ronan Keating concert and the chance to meet with the singer himself.

Tourism Ireland has increased its investment in the German market this year. Promotional activity in 2010 includes a national TV advertising campaign for the first time ever and a significantly expanded publicity programme which highlights Ireland as the island of ‘unique character and characters’.

“Fact-finding visits like this ensure that influential journalists get to experience Dublin and the quality of the tourism product on offer here at first-hand.  The publicity value of the articles these journalists will write is fantastic – they will be read by hundreds of thousands of potential holidaymakers around Germany,” explained Kristina Gauges, Tourism Ireland Germany.

“Germany is the world’s largest outbound travel market and the third largest source of visitors for the island of Ireland.  It is a key market for Tourism Ireland and we have an exceptionally strong promotional programme in place for 2010, providing compelling reasons to visit and emphasising the great value for money available right now throughout the island.”
