Promoting the island of Ireland in Italy

22 Feb 2010

Tourism Ireland recently participated in BIT (Borsa Internazionale del Turismo), the main tourism fair in Italy, attracting over 150,000 visitors each year, including leading travel writers, tour operators and travel agents, as well as many thousands of potential Italian holidaymakers looking for ideas and suggestions for their next short break or holiday destination.

Tourism Ireland has a comprehensive promotional programme in place in Italy for 2010, particularly in the run-up to and during St Patrick’s Day, capitalising on Ireland’s heightened profile to showcase the uniqueness of a holiday here.  A range of campaigns are highlighting the great value on offer as well as compelling reasons to visit.  The message in Italy is that there has never been a better time to visit the island of Ireland.
