Garden expert Trevor Edwards joined Tourism Ireland in Canada recently, to help promote Northern Ireland’s superb garden product, at the Canada Blooms festival in Toronto.
Canada Blooms is Canada’s largest flower and garden festival, attracting over 90,000 visitors. Targeting the growing number of Canadians interested in visiting gardens here, Tourism Ireland, together with industry partners, mounted a strong presence at this year’s show. Tourism Ireland was one of the main sponsors of Canada Blooms 2010 and the opening day featured a talk by Trevor Edwards.
Commenting on the busy promotional programme under way for 2010 in Canada, Judith Cassidy, Tourism Ireland, said: “Canada is an important market for tourism to the island of Ireland and Tourism Ireland is working closely with our industry partners to deliver a +3% growth in overseas visitors in 2010. Canada Blooms is an excellent opportunity to convey our message about the wonderful garden product on offer around the island of Ireland to a large audience of potential holidaymakers. We are undertaking strong campaigns emphasising the convenience and value of a holiday on the island of Ireland for Canadian visitors, as well as compelling reasons to visit.”
At the Canada Blooms 2010 show are (l-r) Don Wilmont, Causeway Coast & Glens; Andrea Gannon, Tourism Ireland Canada; Martha Robb, Belfast Visitor & Convention Bureau; and Northern Ireland garden specialist Trevor Edwards.
