International Tourism Buyers Take a Musical and Literary Tour of Northern Ireland

25 May 2010

Top tour operators from France, South Africa and the Netherlands sampled some of Northern Ireland’s finest music and literary venues on a recent fact-finding trip themed ‘Belfast Rocks and Derry Talks!’

Flown in by Tourism Ireland to participate in the Meet the Buyer workshop, the tour operators had a chance to experience at first-hand the newly refurbished Ulster Hall, the Oh Yeah Music Museum in the Cathedral Quarter and the Ormeau Baths Gallery, before travelling North to visit Bellaghy Bawn, Springhill House in Moneymore and Laurel Villa – Ireland’s only ‘poetry’ guesthouse.

The fact-finding visit was organised by Tourism Ireland in conjunction with the Northern Ireland Tourist Board.

Pictured taking in the splendour of the newly refurbished Ulster Hall are Themba Mthombemi, South Africa; Pania Walden, NITB; Ingrid Haye, the Netherlands and Patrice Leclerc, France.
