Highlighting the island of Ireland to Business Travellers in Abu Dhabi

GIBTM is a key event each year for the MICE (Meetings, Incentive, Conferences and Events) industry, attracting thousands of Business Tourism buyers from all over the world and offering important networking opportunities for the participating Irish tourism operators.

Business Tourism is an important, high yield sector and Tourism Ireland is stepping up its efforts to grow Business Tourism from its key markets around the globe in 2010.  In anticipation of the opening of Convention Centre Dublin (CCD) in September, marketing investment in Business Tourism has been increased to almost €2 million this year.  A programme of high profile events and promotions is under way overseas, highlighting the great facilities and good value rates available for meetings and conferences here, and capitalising on the excitement around the opening of CCD which can deliver benefits for the whole island in spin-off meetings and events.

Tourism Ireland is working hard to promote the island of Ireland in the GCC as a premier Business Tourism destination. With Etihad Airways increasing its service between Abu Dhabi and Dublin to ten flights per week, the island of Ireland is even more accessible than ever before.
