Speaking after the meeting, Niall Gibbons, Tourism Ireland, said: “We are delighted to have this opportunity to meet with Christoph Mueller.  2009 has been one of the most difficult years in global tourism and for us, 2010 is about action to stem the decline and begin the return to growth for tourism to Ireland from overseas.  As an island, direct, convenient and competitive access services are critical to achieving that growth and we look forward to working closely with Aer Lingus to deliver on our mutual strategic targets.  We will undertake significant co-operative marketing campaigns this year with Aer Lingus in all of our main markets.”
