Tourism Ireland, the organisation responsible for marketing the island of Ireland overseas, has announced the appointment of Finola O’Mahony as Head of Europe, based in Tourism Ireland’s London office.
Finola joins the organisation with extensive experience in international marketing and was most recently with global wine producer Ernest & Julio Gallo, where she was Senior Director, International Marketing. Prior to that, Finola held European, developing markets and global marketing roles with Gillette and Kimberly-Clark and also has experience in marketing and export consultancy.
Commenting on the appointment, Tourism Ireland Chief Executive, Paul O’Toole said: “I am delighted to welcome Finola O’Mahony into this key strategic role in our organisation. She joins Tourism Ireland at a time when we are facing a number of challenges. We have recently undertaken a major review of Mainland Europe and will be launching a new strategy for Europe shortly. Finola will play a pivotal role in implementing this strategy and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in international marketing.”
Finola O’Mahony said “This is a fantastic role and an exciting opportunity for me. Mainland Europe has been a source of sustained growth in visitors to the island of Ireland for a number of years. However, I am confident that there is further potential yet to be unlocked. I look forward to taking this important market from strength to strength with the great Tourism Ireland team already in place and to working closely with our industry partners.”
Finola took up her new post at the end of April.
