“Wellness” was the order of the day for a group of top Dutch lifestyle journalists, who visited Monart Spa over the weekend, to see the facilities on offer for themselves. Their fact-finding visit was organised by Tourism Ireland in The Netherlands, in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland. As well as inspecting the facilities at Monart, the group also visited Whites Hotel in Wexford.
John Walsh, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for The Netherlands, said: “Increasingly, the island of Ireland is becoming known for the high quality of its spas and the health and wellness experience on offer here. This type of holiday very much appeals to the Dutch and with the development of so many top-class facilities around the island of Ireland such as Monart, health and wellness is one of the themes being promoted by Tourism Ireland in The Netherlands this year. The fact that it is possible to enjoy a relaxing spa experience in Ireland, and engage in activities like walking, angling, culture and heritage, very much appeals to the Dutch.
“Media visits such as these are very important, in terms of helping to spread the good news about Wexford and the high quality of the spa and wellness product available throughout Ireland. The articles these influential journalists will write will be read by thousands of potential Dutch holidaymakers. The Netherlands is an important market for tourism and we in Tourism Ireland are pulling out all the stops to win business and to keep Ireland and Wexford ‘top of mind’ with the Dutch consumer this year.”
